*AMC+ and Shudder have released a chilling new trailer and key art for “The Terror: Devil in Silver,” the latest installment in the acclaimed horror anthology series “The Terror.” The six-episode limited series is set to premiere on Thursday, May 7, with new episodes rolling out weekly.
The story centers on Pepper, played by Dan Stevens, a working-class mover whose life spirals after he is wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. Inside the facility, he encounters a disturbing environment filled with manipulative patients, secretive doctors, and a growing sense that something far more sinister may be present, per the news release.
As Pepper struggles to survive the psychological and physical challenges of the institution, he is forced to confront whether the true threat comes from within the hospital walls—or from within himself. The narrative explores themes of control, perception, and the blurred line between reality and paranoia.
The cast also features an ensemble of acclaimed performers, including Judith Light, Aasif Mandvi, CCH Pounder, Stephen Root, Marin Ireland, and others, adding further depth to the series’ character-driven horror approach.
The series continues the franchise’s reputation for blending psychological tension and supernatural horror within historical and institutional settings. Previous seasons of “The Terror” explored a doomed Arctic expedition and a World War II-era internment camp. The series has since become one of AMC+’s strongest library titles following its addition to the platform in 2023.
Executive production duties on the new installment include filmmaker Ridley Scott, along with showrunners Chris Cantwell and Victor LaValle, whose novel serves as the foundation for the season’s story. Emmy nominee Karyn Kusama directs the first two episodes, helping establish the tone for the series’ newest chapter.
