By Zoila Palma: UNICEF Belize and the Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children have joined forces to promote the rights, inclusion, and well-being of children with disabilities across Belize, under the message: “Every Child Seen. Every Child Heard. Every Child Included.”
The partnership aims to challenge stereotypes, raise awareness, and promote a more inclusive Belize where every child is valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
The initiative will also amplify the voices of children with disabilities and highlight their strengths, achievements, and contributions.
The partners emphasized that children with disabilities should not be defined by their challenges, noting that they are dreamers, leaders, learners, creators, and changemakers whose stories, voices, and rights matter. The initiative encourages families, schools, communities, and organizations to help create environments where every child can thrive.
Through the partnership, UNICEF Belize and the Special Envoy are calling for greater inclusion and support for children with disabilities, with the goal of making inclusion the norm rather than the exception.
