The United Way of Greater St. Louis is seeking volunteers to help fill over 300 positions at 96 agencies through its Summer Volunteer Guide, an online tool featuring local volunteer opportunities. The Guide can be found at www.stlvolunteer.org/syg.
“We’re excited for a fun summer of volunteering as local volunteers discover the joy of helping neighbors in need and advancing the greater good across the St. Louis region,” said Rick Skinner, United Way Volunteer Center vice president.
“United Way’s Summer Volunteer Guide will help drive generosity and positive impact in our communities, with hundreds of ways to get involved.”
All opportunities are through non-profit agencies throughout the St. Louis region in Missouri and Illinois. The Guide allows users to search by location, age, skillset, interests, and keyword and includes in-person, virtual, and other opportunities.
Volunteer positions include mentors and tutors for children, community cleanup efforts, help with garden maintenance, packaging and distributing food and household essentials, service to veterans, and more. Virtual and Do-It-Yourself opportunities include creating cooling center relief baskets, first responder kits, dinner baskets, and so much more.
The UWGSL Volunteer Center is the largest in the region and offers year-round opportunities for all ages.
