A Voice Too Big for Borders: Hilton College’s Zipho Dzanibe Selected for Elite LA Academy

For Zipho, music isn’t just a hobby – it’s his calling. Out of over 1,000 global applicants, he has been selected for the prestigious A Cappella Academy in Los Angeles, an opportunity that represents a vital investment in his dream to inspire, uplift, and serve through music.

Hilton, South Africa (13 May 2026) – The talent of our young people is simply too vast to be contained within our borders. One of Hilton College’s most talented musicians, Zipho Dzanibe, has been selected to attend the prestigious A Cappella Academy in Los Angeles!

According to the school, Zipho is part of the 80–90 singers chosen out of more than 1,000 applicants worldwide. He has been selected for the Global Pop group, recognising his skill, dedication, and potential on an international level.

For this young man, music isn’t just an interest or pastime; it is who he is. Hailing from Durban, the richness of his voice and impressive musical artistry have seen him shine as a member of the Drakensberg Boys Choir School – an experience that shaped not only his musicianship but also his discipline, character, and pursuit of excellence.

“Music is how I express my gratitude, my faith, my joy, and even my struggles. Being surrounded by world-class music at such a young age opened my eyes to what is possible when talent is nurtured with dedication and faith,” he shares.

In addition to his remarkable vocal skills, Zipho plays violin, guitar, bass, ukulele, orchestral percussion, African percussion, and organ.

Zipho immerses himself in every opportunity to grow – evident in his impressive resume and multiple accolades. He is currently on a music scholarship at Hilton College. And this musician’s journey is only moving forward.

At the A Cappella Academy, he has the opportunity to gain:

“My dream is to pursue music as a career. Not for fame or recognition, but to inspire, uplift, and serve. I want to create music that carries meaning,” Zipho says.
