Belize celebrates local entrepreneurship at Made in Belize Trade Show 2026

By Aaron Humes: The Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) held its Made in Belize Trade Show 2026 on Saturday, May 16, transforming Sir George Brown Park in the capital city of Belmopan into a vibrant display of local talent and innovation. This year’s event drew families, businesses, and supporters from across the nation, all eager to celebrate the rich tapestry of Belizean entrepreneurship.

Under the theme “Buy in Belize, Build Belize, Support Your Local Homegrown,” the Trade Show showcased a remarkable array of locally produced goods and services. Visitors explored booths filled with specialty foods, handcrafted items, natural beauty products, fashion, eco-conscious innovations, and professional services that reflect the diversity of Belize’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Chamber President Giacomo Sanchez highlighted the significance of the Trade Show as a vital platform for local businesses: “This event is more than a trade show. It is a celebration of Belizean talent, Belizean enterprise, and Belizean identity…Every product and service represented here reflects the creativity, resilience, and determination of our entrepreneurs. When we support local businesses, we strengthen our economy, create opportunities for our people, and invest in the future of Belize.”

The day was buzzing with activity, featuring product sampling, live demonstrations, and family-friendly activities, allowing visitors to engage directly with the entrepreneurs behind Belizean brands.

Five presenters were awarded in the Best Booth Competition, recognizing the creativity and professionalism of participating exhibitors. The winners included:
– Overall Best Booth Award: Thorough Beauty (Sponsored by BCCI & the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan))
– Most Outstanding Female Entrepreneur Award: Lindz Handmade Treasures (Sponsored by BCCI & Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort)
