Bukedea Comprehensive School South will face London College Nansana in the semi-final of the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Boys’ football in Lira city, Northern Uganda on Monday, 18th May.
This comes after a spirited 4-1 post match penalty victory over Masaka S.S in the third quarter final played at the Dr Obote College playground 1 on Sunday.
Normal time of this afternoon contest was 1-goal apiece.
Bukedea Comprehensive School South took the lead through Simon Wanyama.
Masaka S.S equalized with virtually the last kick of the game when Isaac Kafuuma scored from an acute angle to push the game into extra-time.
In the tense penalties, Bukedea Comprehensive School South goalkeeper Tonny Katangalo shone with two saves from Ali Ssemakula and Isaac Kitty with Pius Ekusai the only scorer.
Simon Wanyama, Musa Godi, Bob Jeriga and captain Patrick Ssenkusa were on target for Bukedea Comprehensive School South.
“It was a tense climax but we remained composed and won in the shoot-out. We are set for the semi-final and possible final” Ronald Ssali, head coach of Bukedea Comprehensive South remarked.
During the final quarter final on the day, St Mary’s Kitende clobbered NUMASA S.S 6-0 at the Dr Obote College 2 playground.
St Mary’s Kitende will face Amus College School in the other semi-final.
Amus College overcame London College Nansana 1-0 courtesy of a goal by Mudasir Ijosiga.
Both semi-finals will come on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s final showdown.
USSSA unveiled a new trophy that will be handed over to the champion in waiting.
The championship attracted as many as 64 schools from the different corners of the country.
