Chikunga praises McKenzie for improving sports access at special needs schools
McKenzie handed over a multipurpose sport facility, attire and sporting equipment to two schools
Minister in the Presidency for Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga, has expressed her gratitude to Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie for his attempts at making special needs schools accessible for young people to participate in sports.
This comes after McKenzie handed over a multipurpose sport facility, attire and sporting equipment to the Pholoho Special School and Heatherdale Secondary School in Bloemfontein, Free State.

The minister reiterated the importance of a government of national unity, as this enables everyone to be equal in the country.
McKenzie says such opportunities would not have been possible 32 years ago, but today, as minister, he is fortunate to grant special needs children the same opportunities as everyone.
“I was a very, very naughty child. I’ve been expelled seven times in my whole high school career. But that school has formed me into the man that I am today, and the school is struggling, and everybody always look at government. Government is not doing this. But government has empowered many people. And those people must plough back in their communities.”
