Comment on Grenada 50: forward ever, backward never by Melvin T Mason

I appreciated very much Vonnie James' editorial about Grenada's independence. In March 1981, I was privileged to visit Grenada to celebrate the second anniversary of the Revo. I was an elected City Councilmember in my hometown of Seaside, California at the time. My late good friend Gus Newport, then Mayor of Berkeley, California, visited there the previous year. We both became friends with Comrades Prime Minster Maurice Bishop and Consul General Jiseph Burke, who spent two days at my home when he spoke there in 1980. I will be visiting Grenada next month to attend ceremonies uplifting the legacy of the Revo and the Comrades, especially Maurice, who were murdered. To Grenada I say "Forward Ever, Backwards Never!"
