By Zoila Palma: .A flood alert remains in effect for portions of Belize as continued excessive rainfall is expected to produce urban and flash flooding in central and southeastern areas of the country, as well as northern districts.
According to the latest NEMO advisory, higher-than-bank-full river levels have been observed on the Sittee River at Kendal, raising concerns about further flooding in surrounding communities.
NEMO warns that flooding is already occurring or is expected and are urging residents to take immediate precautions.
Residents are being advised to remain vigilant and closely monitor weather updates as conditions continue to be assessed.
