International News:  Race against time continues to find Venezuela Earthquake survivors

By Zoila Palma:  Rescue teams continued searching for survivors across northern Venezuela on Tuesday, six days after twin earthquakes devastated the region.

The 7.5 and 7.2 magnitude quakes struck within a minute of each other shortly after 6 p.m. local time on June 24, leaving more than 1,700 people confirmed dead.

With thousands still missing, rescuers say time is rapidly running out to find anyone still alive beneath the rubble.

Search operations remain focused in the northern coastal state of La Guaira, near the epicenter of the disaster. International rescue teams have joined the efforts.

Crews continue searching collapsed buildings, calling out for survivors and asking anyone trapped to signal by banging three times, but many searches have ended without a response.

Families continue to wait anxiously for news of missing loved ones.
