2025, Generation Black TV will be broadcasting Her Story: Our Voices, a special television
programme, featuring an incredible line-up:
Dame Kelly Holmes: Military veteran, double Olympic champion and a passionate advocate for
mental health, women’s empowerment and the LGBTQ+ community. Her autobiography,
Unique, was published in November 2023.

campaigner and bestselling author of The Feel Good Fix: Boost Energy, Improve Sleep and Move
Through Menopause and Beyond.
Rosie Nixon: Bestselling author, consultant and life coach, best known for her tenure as Editor-
in-Chief of HELLO! magazine, and as the founder of Rosie's Reinvention Retreats, which offer
curated luxury day retreats for midlife women.
Blair Imani: American education activist, creator, author of Read This to Get Smarter, and host
of the viral series, Smarter in Seconds. She is known for her work advocating for racial justice,
LGBTQ+ rights, and women's empowerment.
Montell Douglas: Double Olympian, British Gladiator, Strictly Come Dancing Contestant 2024,
TV personality and women’s health advocate.
Nadia Nagamootoo: Business psychologist, podcast host, bestselling author of Beyond
Discomfort: Why inclusive leadership is so hard (and what you can do about it) and the founder
of Avenir, which helps create positive business impact through inclusion and belonging.
This is a Generation Black TV original production, uniquely filmed by young Black girls from
Young Creators UK, as part of a positive action initiative aimed at providing them with
opportunities to develop media production skills.
During the programme, the speakers share personal stories of being a woman in their respective
industries with their diverse identities – Black, South Asian, White, Muslim, British, US, queer,
hetero, across various professional backgrounds and industries - discussing the barriers,
challenges, and expectations they have faced. They dissect the current state of the world
regarding women’s equity, highlighting news stories and political changes that are deeply
concerning and feel like significant steps backwards.
The programme explores the importance of hope and how vital it is to believe positive change
can still happen, despite the external context. The programme leaves views with actions they
can all contribute to and how collective efforts can drive progress and #AccelerateAction, based
on the UN Women IWD 2025 theme: For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.
Viewers can watch Her Story: Our Voices on channels such as TalkTalk TV, platforms like
Pluto, or on any device using the Generation Black TV app.
