National Unity Democratic Organisation parliamentarian Vetaruhe Kandorozu and deputy education minister Dino Ballotti have made peace following their fallout last week.
Kandorozu took to his social media on Wednesday, saying the two lawmakers have put the matter behind them.
This comes after Kandorozu last week told Ballotti to “go back to Italy,” adding, “Namibia does not look like that”, when referring to him in the National Assembly.
His ‘unparliamentary’ remarks caused chaos, with minister of education innovation, youth, sport, arts and culture Sanet Steenkamp describing them as unacceptable in an independent country, especially by a lawmaker.
She argued that Kandorozu’s misconduct was sending out a wrong message to the public and to the eyes of the world.
Kandorozu told The Namibian last week that he was only teasing Ballotti, who was “misbehaving” while leader of the official opposition Imms Nashinge was contributing to the national budget.
“Men will always be men. Past is behind, and we move forward. The next event is at a coffee shop enjoying ourselves.
See you at the Nedbank Namibian Newspaper cup Dino Ballotti,” Kandorozu wrote on his social media page.
On his part, Ballotti on his social media wrote: “My senior and I are good, we are nation building! We have agreed that the winner between the Kavango East and Otjozondjupa regions at the Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup will take bragging rights. Okuhepa tjinene”.
