Kodak Black Walks Out Of Broward Jail After Posting Bond On New Charges

Kodak Black's legal problems intensify as he faces two arrests in one month, with his attorney claiming systematic targeting by police.

Kodak Black Walks Out Of Broward Jail After Posting Bond On New Charges

Kodak Black walked out of Broward County Jail on Friday after posting a $3,500 bond, but his legal nightmare is far from over.

The 28-year-old rapper turned himself in Thursday facing charges of fleeing law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence, marking his second arrest in less than a month.

The judge set his bond at $2,500 on one charge and $1,000 on the second, with strict conditions prohibiting him from possessing firearms, weapons, or ammunition. His self-surrender was noted by the court, but that didn’t stop the legal machinery from grinding forward.

Just seven days earlier, Kodak Black faced a judge in Orlando on separate drug trafficking charges that paint a much darker picture of his current situation.

Authorities accused him of trafficking MDMA, and according to TMZ, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered a pink Louis Vuitton bag containing more than 25 grams of MDMA, $37,000 in cash, a bottle of cough syrup, a gun-shaped lighter, scissors, and documents bearing his legal name.

He posted $75,000 bail on that charge and now faces trial. His attorney Bradford Cohen isn’t mincing words about what’s happening.

“This is a self surrender from yet another ‘investigation’ that just happened to also take 5 months to ‘investigate’ for allegedly fleeing and eluding,” Cohen told TMZ. “At this point I think everyone agrees that Kodak is consistently being targeted.”

Cohen’s frustration reflects a pattern he sees unfolding.

“It’s not unexpected, as this is usually the procedure we go through where there is an unfounded weak arrest and then followed up by yet another arrest for cases that allegedly take 5 or 6 months to investigate,” he explained.

The lawyer called the drug case a “total joke,” insisting police had no probable cause to arrest his client. What makes this situation even more complicated is that Kodak Black’s baby mother, Jammiah Broomfield, also found herself in legal trouble.

On April 16, she was arrested on charges of trafficking methamphetamine, resisting an officer without violence, and driving with a suspended license. Detectives spotted her black Tesla fleeing on April 2, and when they caught up, they found 29.5 grams of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

She told police she picked up the meth for her boyfriend and had $1,010 in cash consistent with street-level narcotics sales.

Broomfield, who’s a rapper herself and shares a son with Kodak Black, now faces her own legal battles.

The pattern is undeniable. Two arrests in one month. Two people connected to Kodak Black facing drug-related charges.

His attorney is calling out what he sees as systematic targeting, and the evidence Cohen’s presenting suggests the cases may have serious weaknesses.

Both the Broward and Orange County cases are currently pending trial, meaning Kodak Black’s legal calendar is about to get very crowded.
