Ministry of Rural Transformation hands over $60,000 in equipment for infrastructure needs

By Zoila Palma:  Six communities across the Belize and Corozal Districts have received equipment valued at more than BZ$60,000 from the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development and Local Government to support community maintenance and infrastructure needs.

The equipment package includes high-quality maintenance and utility tools designed to assist communities in carrying out essential works more efficiently.

 Among the items distributed are John Deere ride-on mowers and weed eaters, which will support the upkeep of public spaces and community areas.

The assistance also includes critical infrastructure components such as pipes and water meters to help communities maintain and improve their local water systems.

The Ministry said the provision of the equipment is aimed at giving communities the necessary resources to address their maintenance needs and better manage local infrastructure.

By investing directly in community-level assets, the Ministry continues its efforts to strengthen rural development and improve the capacity of villages to manage essential services and resources.
