Prime Video has officially unleashed the highly anticipated trailer for its upcoming live-action series, Spider-Noir. Making his first-ever leading television role, Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage is stepping into the gritty, shadowy world of the Marvel universe.
The official trailer made its worldwide premiere today at the CCXPMX26 panel in Mexico City. Unveiled to a packed room of 2,100 fans at the Centro Banamex Convention Center, the largest pop culture festival in the world.
Series stars Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Jack Huston, and Karen Rodriguez took the stage alongside creator, co-showrunner, and executive producer Oren Uziel to personally introduce the project to the audience.
Lucky attendees were also treated to an extended scene that established the series’ intense tone and high stakes, followed by a special video greeting from Cage himself. Adding to the hype, fans at the convention had the chance to collect five different exclusive badges inspired by the characters, beautifully designed by Mexican artist Jorge Molina.
Based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir, the series follows Ben Reilly (played by Cage), a seasoned and down-on-his-luck private investigator navigating the dangerous streets of 1930s New York. Following a deeply personal tragedy, Reilly is forced to grapple with his complicated past life as the city’s only superhero.
In a first-of-its-kind move for the streaming platform, viewers will actually be able to choose their own adventure when watching the series. To fully capture the aesthetic of the 1930s setting or cater to modern preferences, fans can choose to stream Spider-Noir in either “Authentic Black & White” or “True-Hue Full Color”.
Spider-Noir will make its initial debut on MGM+’s linear channel on May 25. Just two days later, on May 27, the show will roll out globally on Prime Video.
