Preparations for the first ever edition of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Run are in a high gear.
The run will be held on Sunday, 10th May 2026 with the main event in Kampala city and across various locations around the country in Kitgum, Rwamanja, Kyaka, Kotido and Yumbe.
The run will be inclined along the theme “Run! Save Her future” targeted towards raising support for the vulnerable girl child, particularly in Agago District, Northern Uganda.

The ADRA Uganda Country Director Elder John Mwanza addressed the media at the Kampala offices on Thursday, 23rd April 2026.
Elder Mwanza notified that at least Ug.Shs 200,000,000 is needed to help the vulnerable children gain school re-entry and mentorship kits for adolescent mothers, dignity kits and reusable pads for school-going girls, life skills and entrepreneurship training for vulnerable girls, safe spaces in schools and health facilities for psycho-social care.

The ADRA run is to raise awareness for the vulnerable girl child, improve adolescent health. This run is rooted in our advocacy campaign. It is not only a sports event, but it is a way of turning public attention into public responsibility. To the running community, every kilometer run matters for the girl child.

The kits go for Ug.Shs 35,000 per head and sold at the ADRA head offices and different locations.


Partners:
A number of partners such as ICEA Insurance, Maganjo Millers, UAP Old Mutual, Bugema University, SDA Uganda Union Women Ministries, C-Care, Sites Travel and Church leaders are part of this noble cause.
Internationally, the Global Affair Canada and the ministry of foreign affairs in Finland are other associate partners.

At least 600 runners, 5000 + supporters and spectators are expected are attend this run organized by ADRA, a global humanitarian organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, operating in 118+ countries with over 6000 global staff.
ADRA Uganda has been registered since 1986 and works across all regions of the country, driven by the values of Justice, Compassion and Love.
ADRA’s purpose statement is “To serve humanity so all may live as God intended”.
