Basketball legend, cultural icon, and longtime brand partner, Shaquille O’Neal, hosted a ‘Suit Up’ event at JCPenney with local Clayton State University students.
The event allows O’Neal to take the students shopping for his popular XLG collection to help them graduate and prepare for their future endeavors. O’Neal celebrated the launch of his brand-new fragrance, EQLIPSE, available only at JCPenney.
Each student received a $500 expense card to shop for the collection and received Shaq’s new fragrance EQLIPSE.
They also were able to take professional headshots and portraits as well.
The XLG collection clothing line caters specifically to big and tall men. O’Neal’s making a big and tall line fits because Shaq is synonymous with big and tall.

EQLIPSE is a bold, aromatic woody fragrance exclusively at JCPenney. This fragrance features notes of bergamot, violet, vetiver, and amber. Marketed for its warm, magnetic scent profile, it’s priced at $55 for a 4.2oz and $60 for a 2-piece gift.
Upcoming senior at Clayton State University, Sonny Simpson, said he was excited to meet Shaq and be able to pick out different suits in the collection.
“Shaq is one of my idols, and my palms are sweaty as we speak now,” he said. “I have been looking around at the collection since we got here, and I have so many options to choose from. This is a really cool experience.”

Freshman Fabian Partner, a General Business major, said he felt good about seeing Shaq and being blessed by the legend himself at such a generous event.
“We just came from the award ceremony at Clayton State University, so it’s a great day, and now we’re meeting Shaq and shopping his collection,” he said. “He’s a well-known celebrity, and it’s really awesome to see how down-to-earth he really is, and we get to buy some of his own suits that he wears.”
