Gauteng Acting South African Police Service (SAPS) Provincial Commissioner, Major General Fred Kekana says they have deployed crime intelligence in the area to monitor the situation.
“Currently we have managed to arrest six people for public violence since from this morning up to now. We are still continuing, our crime intelligence is on the ground, our detectives are here taking cases as they come immediately processing and our public order policing were mobilised including Johannesburg public order. All the teams are standing by to ensure that all community members are safe from harm and those that are not part of the protest can move around freely.”
