Mamelodi Sundowns have finally secured a landing permit in Rabat, Morocco for their chartered flight. The team is currently on their way to north Africa for the second leg final clash of this season’s Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League against AS Rabat.
Sundowns left OR Tambo International Airport on Wednesday morning via Gabon, despite not having the required landing permit.
The club’s senior administrator, Yugesh Singh, confirmed to the SABC that they got the required papers 45 minutes before arriving in Libreville to refuel.
Sundowns, who enjoy a slender 1-nil lead will land at 11 o’clock in Rabat this evening, before driving for 90 minutes to their base camp. The match will be played on Sunday, and kick off is at 9PM.
