Zambezi regional police commander commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo says the accident took place at the Chetto area at around 00h15.
She says a station wagon carrying seven people was travelling to Katima Mulilo while a truck with three people was headed to Walvis Bay.
“Due to the head-on collision, the station wagon overturned, resulting in the death of three people at the scene, three sustained serious injuries, and one sustained minor injuries. Sakuwa-Neo says the names of the deceased are being withheld because their families have not been notified.
