By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Students at San Marcos Primary School received important lessons on crime prevention, personal safety, and responsible decision-making during a special outreach visit by members of the Toledo Police Formation on Thursday.

The educational session targeted students in Standards Four, Five and Six and was led by Deputy Officer Commanding Administration, Inspector Casey, along with representatives from several specialized police units.

During the presentations, officers spoke openly about the dangers of gang involvement, substance abuse, and criminal behavior. Students were also informed about the legal consequences that can result from unlawful activities and the importance of making positive life choices from an early age.

Police officers addressed sensitive topics including sexual assault awareness, personal responsibility, and appropriate social conduct. Traffic safety laws were also discussed to help students better understand the importance of road safety and responsible behavior as pedestrians, cyclists, and future drivers.

The outreach initiative forms part of the Belize Police Department’s ongoing efforts to engage young people and strengthen relationships between law enforcement and communities throughout the country.

Officers emphasized that education and awareness are key tools in preventing crime and helping young Belizeans avoid situations that could negatively affect their futures.

Police say they remain committed to working with schools and community partners to empower young people with the knowledge and skills needed to become responsible citizens and contribute to safer communities across Belize.
