Arnez Newton has been named assistant principal at Brittany Woods Middle School, and Jennifer Pryor is serving as PreK-5 English language arts, reading and social studies curriculum coordinator for the School District of University City.
Newton spent the past 12 years at Grand Center Arts Academy as a teacher, dean of students and Middle School Academy principal. He previously taught middle school in Memphis and Chicago and was a Teach For America corps member. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in educational leadership.
Pryor, an English language arts and reading instructional coach, was named the district’s Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2024. She also has led districtwide professional learning in curriculum implementation, literacy and data-informed instruction.
