Women Against Rape (WAR) is calling for stronger support systems and safer spaces for women in politics and leadership positions following the recent general elections.
The organisation said while the election of women to public office marks progress, more must be done to ensure women can participate safely and fully in political life.
WAR is urging equal access to resources and opportunities, along with more respectful public discourse and stronger support for emerging female leaders.
The group said achieving gender equity in leadership requires long-term structural and cultural changes beyond electoral success.
It adds that it remains committed to working with government and other partners to promote gender equality, improve access to justice, and support the wellbeing of women and families.
Meanwhile, the organisation is also congratulating Kiz Johnson on her first electoral victory and Maria Bird Browne on securing a fourth term in office.
WAR said the victories reflect growing progress for women in leadership and they recognise both women for their contribution to national development.
