The Barrow Tarot cards deal Ramsden, Furness Ironworks and The Strawberry Ground resulting in the following poem. Re-opening them today i am mindful of the first time i went to Harry Ramsden’s. I was on a mini-bus with a group of Danner’s including Jane and Peter Hope. The three of us were laughing at Jane, a Wolves fan going to the Albion (a pub). Although I didn’t get them in this poem i think some of their spirit is somehow included.

Harry, Harry, Harry, Your hot fish and chips
Celebratory dinners highly salted
Doused in the acidic pong of malt vinegar
Served in paper we walk towards the future
Presently we’ll reminisce about the past
Many long hours of work for strong arms smelting
Moulding revolutionary concepts…. H!

You left them on the counter with your wallet
Go back and get them. Not leaving you behind
You cultured King of Birthday fancies with your
Celebratory dinners highly salted
Remember running rings round Strawberry Fields
It was no test nor trial for one like you
Careful with that spillage dear friend forever

We carouse in the dark up Croslands Park Road
Illuminated by street lights the moon, and
Stars twinkle recognising us as we are
