Police have apprehended the suspect linked to Friday night’s fatal shooting in Gros Islet, bringing an end to a tense weekend manhunt.
Saint Lucia Daily Post understands that the suspect was captured by law enforcement officers shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the Bellevue, Gros Islet area
Initial reports indicate that the suspect and the deceased were involved in an altercation moments before gunfire erupted, leaving one man dead.
Following the incident, the suspect allegedly fled the scene and remained on the run as police intensified efforts to locate him.
Sources familiar with the operation told Saint Lucia Daily Post that officers were able to track down and apprehend the suspect during a targeted operation in Bellevue.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has not yet released an official statement regarding the arrest or the identity of the suspect.
