The celebrated AFTV crew finally arrived in Uganda for the first time ever on the evening of Friday, 24th April 2026.

The delegation was led by Robbie Lyle, the founder of Global Fan Network (GFN) and the AF Television channel, arguably the largest football fan network in the world with an estimated 170,000,000 monthly views.

Lyle was be accompanied by colleagues Thomas Jee Cecil and Lee Marl Judges as they traveled aboard Uganda Airlines, the official national air carrier.

They were officially received by Barbara Nana Babirye (chairperson of national organizing committee) and the deputy David Mafabi, ardent Arsenal fans in Uganda and the media.

“We are humbled to come to Uganda” Robbie spoke to the media at the VIP lounge of the lake-side Entebbe International Airport.

“The crew is ready to preside over workshops on monetization of digital social media and grace the two watch parties as well. We shall also tour Uganda to appreciate its beauty” he added.

On Saturday morning, the digital social media monetization workshop will kick off at Kati-Kati Restaurant in Kampala before the first watch party at the same venue later in the evening when Arsenal plays New Castle United.

The crew will visit a couple of tourists’ sites in Uganda including the Equator, Source of the Nile and national parks, a big boost to the tourism sector of the country.

The second watch party will happen on Wednesday night of 29th April 2026 as Arsenal faces Athletico Madrid in the first leg of the CAF Champions League.

The visit of the AFTV will be a big boost to social media crews in Uganda as it is envisaged as a big motivational and inspirational pill.

For starters, Arsenal Football Club has won 13 English Premier League titles in 1930-31, 1932-33, 1933-34, 1934-35, 1937-38, 1947-48, 1952-53, 1970-71, 1988-89, 1990-91, 1997-98, 2001-02 and lately 2003-04.

Kenya’s outspoken events’ personality Ken Mathiu of Sunstar Group is coordinating this event with close collaboration with the Ugandan counterparts.

The Ugandan tour of AFTV is supported by State House Uganda, Uganda Airlines, Ministry of Education and Sports, Vision Group, Tush Events, GFN, Kati Kati, Serena Hotels, Guinness, among others.
