After earning a Player of the Season nomination, Gift Links capped off a remarkable campaign by helping AGF Aarhus clinch the Danish league title with a game to spare.
Denmark (12 May 2026) – Gift Links is ending the season on a high after helping AGF Aarhus secure a historic Danish Superliga title with a game to spare.
The former Cape Town City F.C. player has been one of AGF’s standout performers throughout the campaign, producing consistent performances that have made him one of the most talked-about players in the league this season.
And this past weekend delivered another major moment.
AGF sealed the Danish Superliga crown with a game to spare after defeating Brondby IF 2-0 away from home, with Links once again making his mark by providing the assist for the opening goal.
The result pushed AGF onto an unassailable 64 points after 31 matches and ended the club’s decades-long wait for league glory, with the title being their first since the 1985/86 season.
The South African has become one of the driving forces in the AGF setup, regularly influencing matches with his creativity, movement and ability to unlock defences. His impact has been reflected in the numbers too, with Links collecting an impressive 12 Man of the Match awards during the season.
That consistency is one of the big reasons he now finds himself nominated for the prestigious Danish Superliga Player of the Season award alongside some of the league’s top talent. The recognition also places Links among a small group of South African footballers who have lifted Denmark’s top-flight title.
For the South African winger, a league title now secured and individual honours still up for grabs, the 2025/26 season could yet become even more memorable for the Bafana Bafana hopeful.
