By Breaking Belize News Staff: It wasn’t exactly highway robbery but police are investigating an early morning burglary at the Novelo’s Bus Terminal in Belize City.
According to police, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. when three masked men, armed with firearms, held up security guards who were on duty at the terminal. The guards reported that they were tied up by the assailants.
The men then reportedly took keys to the office, entered the building and stole a quantity of cash. Police say the amount stolen was under $800. The burglars also stole two cell phones belonging to the security guards.
Police say investigators are reviewing surveillance footage as they work to identify those involved.
