Big Hash Opens Up On J Molley Feud: “I Have No Regrets.” In a candid and reflective moment on the Spreading Humours Podcast, South African rapper The Big Hash addressed one of the most talked-about rivalries in local hip hop: his long-running tension with fellow artist J Molley.

When asked whether he regrets ever having “played with” J Molley, a peer from the same generation who rose to prominence around the same time, The Big Hash delivered a surprisingly mature and philosophical response. “I’ll be very clear with this one,” Hash began. “I have no regrets about anything that went down.”

The Pretoria-born rapper went on to explain that while he stands by how things unfolded, he does harbour one specific regret, the way the public feud overshadowed both artists’ individual talents and trajectories.

“What I do regret is the fact that it kind of took away from both our careers,” he admitted. “It’s like now we became tied in together.”

For years, the two names have been almost inseparably linked in South African rap conversations, with fans and media often framing their interactions as a binary rivalry rather than allowing each artist to be judged on his own merits. The constant comparisons, Hash suggested, created a narrative that reduced their individuality and artistic output.

However, the rapper refused to dwell in bitterness. Instead, he offered a calm acceptance of fate that surprised many listeners. “But to me, I look at it like, it happened, and it’s okay,” he said. “Because things are supposed to happen the way that they’re supposed to happen.”

Hash even suggested the experience may have been necessary for his current chapter, describing his present situation as “possibly one of the greatest situations that I’ve been in in a very long time.”

Who knows if I would even be in the situation that I’m in right now… if I hadn’t gone through that,” he reflected.
