Bodycam Footage Showing Taser Pulled On Paige Bueckers During Arike Ogunbowale’s Arrest Upsets Fans

Arike Ogunbowale’s arrest last March went without consequences, but that Miami altercation after a night of partying is back in the news after video of the hectic moment was released.

Police reports from around 4:20 a.m. on March 5, just outside of Miami nightclub E11EVEN, say that Ogunbowale and her friends were being hurried out of the back door of the club when Ogunbowale allegedly punched one of the club’s security guards “in the face with a closed fist.”

Cops were then told Ogunbowale was the aggressor and went outside to place her under arrest, which is where the body cam footage picks up.

The footage shows cops attempting to put cuffs on Ogunbowale when Paige Bueckers tries to plead with the police to de-escalate the situation. 

Bueckers wraps her arm around Ogunbowale and repeatedly tells the officer, “We got her,” but he still pulls out his taser while another member of her group says, “What are the handcuffs for?”

“Get off of her; she did nothing; she’s fine,” others yelled as the cops put the cuffs on.

People watching the heated moment included Unrivaled host Maria Clifton, Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young, and Chicago Sky forward DiJonai Carrington as they watched cops lead Ogunbowale to the patrol car, warning them to all stay back or get arrested too. 

“What y’all doin’? I just f-ckin won, bro,” are her last words as the door is closed and she is driven down to the station.

Ogunbowale’s win refers to winning the championship in the Unrivaled women’s basketball league with the Mist BC, which is the reason behind her celebratory Miami night.

Ogunbowale was later charged with misdemeanor assault and released after posting $1,000 bail. Two months later, the charges were dropped because the alleged victim didn’t show up to court.
