Davido Announces Sixth Studio Album ORIADÉ

Global Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially announced his highly anticipated sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, set for release on July 31, marking a major milestone as he celebrates 15 years at the forefront of African music. Alongside the announcement, the Grammy-nominated hitmaker unveiled the album’s official trailer, offering fans an early glimpse into what promises to be his most personal and purposeful project yet.

Named after the Yoruba words Ori (head, destiny) and Adé (crown), ORIADÉ explores the journey towards purpose, fulfillment, and embracing one’s true calling. The album reflects on the people, places, and experiences that have shaped Davido’s life and career, weaving together themes of faith, family, brotherhood, gratitude, and the enduring spirit of Nigerian excellence.

Describing the project, Davido explains that ORIADÉ is a celebration of identity and destiny, capturing the belief that success follows those who remain true to their purpose. After navigating both career-defining triumphs and deeply personal challenges over the past 15 years, the album represents his most honest and introspective body of work to date.

The announcement follows the release of lead single “I Know Who I Be,” a confident anthem of self-belief that serves as the opening chapter of the ORIADÉ story. While the single celebrates embracing one’s identity with unwavering confidence, the album promises to explore the journey that leads to that certainty through perseverance, growth, and faith.

Davido enters this new era following another remarkable chapter in his career. His acclaimed 2025 album 5IVE, a sold-out 42-date 5ive Alive Tour across four continents, a historic Coachella debut, and a Grammy nomination for “With You” featuring Omah Lay further cemented his position as one of Africa’s biggest global stars. More recently, he featured on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack with “No Place Like Home,” alongside Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado, before delivering a standout performance at the tournament’s countdown concert in Los Angeles.

With more than 30 million followers across social media, Davido remains the world’s most-followed Afrobeats artist and one of the genre’s defining ambassadors. As anticipation builds toward the July 31 release, ORIADÉ is shaping up to be another landmark moment in a career that continues to redefine the global reach of African music.
