It is my privilege to deliver the vote of thanks on behalf of the Board of ERONGO SUNAM Desalination Pty Ltd. First and foremost, we extend our sincere gratitude to the Right Honourable Dr. Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare, Prime Minister of the Republic of Namibia, for honouring this occasion with your presence and for delivering the keynote address. Your message has placed this project within the broader context of Namibia’s development priorities, water security and infrastructure-led growth.,

We also thank the Honourable Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform representing the Honourable Minister, the Honourable Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, and the Honourable Minister of Environment, Forestry and Tourism for joining us this evening. Your presence reflects the cross-sector importance of this project and the need for coordinated national support. To the Honourable Governor of the Erongo Region, thank you for your support and for reminding us of the importance of this project to the people, industries and communities of the Erongo Region.,

We thank NamWater, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abraham Nehemia, for its national water mandate, technical leadership and strong partnership in this project. We thank Swakop Uranium for its commitment to long-term investment, operational sustainability and regional development. We also acknowledge CGN Group and its senior leadership for their continued investment support and confidence in Namibia’s development journey.

To the SUNAM Board, management teams, technical teams, advisors and all officials who have worked behind the scenes to bring this project to this point, thank you., Milestones such as this are never achieved by one person or one institution alone; they are the result of many contributions over time.

We extend our appreciation to all invited guests, stakeholders, partners and members of the media for joining us this evening. Your presence adds significance to this occasion. Finally, we thank the organising team, performers, protocol teams, service providers and venue staff for ensuring that tonight’s event is well prepared and professionally delivered.

The launch of ERONGO SUNAM Desalination Pty Ltd and the ERONGO SUNAM Desalination Project is an important beginning. We look forward to the journey ahead and to the benefits this project will bring to Namibia.
