Football : Jamaica Confirmed as Co-Host of Historic 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica has officially been confirmed as one of the host nations for the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup, making history as the first Caribbean country to host matches at a senior FIFA World Cup.

The tournament will be jointly hosted by Jamaica, the United States, Mexico, and Costa Rica, bringing the world’s premier women’s football competition to the CONCACAF region.

The successful joint bid was officially launched in New York City by the participating national football federations and will stage the first expanded FIFA Women’s World Cup featuring 48 teams. The competition will adopt a 12-group format, allowing more nations than ever before to compete on football’s biggest stage.

Jamaica’s selection as a host nation represents a landmark achievement for the country and the wider Caribbean, providing an unprecedented opportunity to showcase the region’s sporting infrastructure, culture, and hospitality to a global audience.

The four host nations said the tournament is expected to catalyse the continued growth of women’s football throughout the region while creating opportunities to inspire the next generation of female athletes.
