Guyana Cultural Ambassadors arrive in Belize for Belize@45 cultural exchange

By Zoila Palma:  A 14-member Guyana Cultural Ambassadors Delegation has arrived in Belize for a week-long cultural exchange as part of Belize’s 45th National Independence Celebrations.

The delegation will showcase the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana while strengthening the cultural ties between the two Caribbean countries.

The National Celebrations Commission welcomed the delegation to Belize and said the visit will provide Belizeans with an opportunity to experience Guyana’s music, traditions and cultural expressions.

The initiative forms part of the Belize@45 celebrations and highlights the longstanding bonds between Belize and Guyana.

The cultural showcase will travel to several communities across the country, beginning in Orange Walk on September 18. The delegation will then head to San Ignacio on September 19, followed by Belize City on September 20, and will conclude its scheduled national tour in Belmopan on September 21.

Belizeans are being encouraged to come out and experience the music, culture and traditions of Guyana as the delegation makes its way across the country.

The National Celebrations Commission said the activities are intended to promote cultural appreciation and celebrate the enduring relationship between the two nations.
