HERITAGE School will host the first games of Harare’s much awaited Under 21 league, its management has revealed.
The ProBhora League, which has been described as a necessary platform for local football development and talent identification, kicks off on April 11.
It brings together eight top academies that are renowned for producing elite players, some of which have become regional and continental stars, Khama Billiat being a good example.
Aces Youth Academy, Legends Academy, Athletes Sphere formerly known as Real Betis Academy, Scorpions FC which is run by sports journalist Spencer Banda, Total Football Academy, Real Saints Academy, BN Academy, and Heritage Real Oviedo Academy are the teams competing.
Legends Academy is affiliated with English Premier League side Everton while Athletes Sphere has a partnership with Spanish side Villarreal FC.
“Through structured competition, mentorship, and exposure, the Probhora League empowers young athletes with professional experience, discipline, and pathways to international opportunities, cementing its role as a cornerstone of football development in the region.
“The Probhora League from Zimbabwe is a dynamic football competition designed to nurture emerging talent and elevate grassroots development within Zimbabwe,” said the league in a statement.
Scouts from South Africa and other top leagues are expected to grace the league’s games.
Registration of players, vetting and sponsorship have all been finalised.
