Jeff Bezos’ AI startup nears $38bn valuation after $10bn mega funding round

Jeff Bezos’s secretive artificial intelligence venture, widely known as Project Prometheus, is nearing a $10 billion funding round that would value the company at approximately $38 billion. The deal, reported by the Financial Times, underscores surging investor appetite for next-generation AI platforms.

The startup, which focuses on developing AI systems for real-world industrial applications such as manufacturing, aerospace, and engineering, represents a departure from consumer-facing AI models like chatbots. Investing.com says major financial institutions including JPMorgan and BlackRock are participating in the round, highlighting strong institutional backing.

Project Prometheus builds on an earlier $6.2 billion raise in late 2025, with the latest round significantly expanded due to high investor demand. The company is co-led by former Google X scientist Vikram Bajaj and is rapidly scaling operations, recruiting talent from leading AI firms and positioning itself within the emerging “physical AI” segment.

The fundraising reflects a broader surge in capital flowing into AI, as global investors race to back technologies expected to transform industrial systems and supply chains. If completed, the deal would rank among the largest early-stage financings globally, reinforcing AI’s dominance as the most capital-intensive and strategically important sector in today’s technology landscape.
