LA-based R&B artist Joyce Wrice has dropped her second new single of 2026, “Crack The Code”, a sensual ode to feeling good and falling hard for the right love, all in her main character era. Produced by Malik Ninety Five, the track draws from 90s R&B and early 2000s influences—not nostalgic but familiar—while blending Joyce’s velvety voice and intimate, confessional lyrics. “Crack The Code” once again showcases Wrice’s modern multi-cultural aesthetics and empowered feminine perspective as she fully comes into her own. Wrice shares, “Crack The Code came from the perspective of someone who is so used to holding back emotionally, but meets someone who makes that almost impossible. It’s exciting, but there’s tension underneath it all because you don’t fully trust it, or yourself in it. You’re craving connection but also resisting it at the same time. You want them, you feel them, but part of you is always trying not to fall too hard.”
| The new track follows 2026 breakout single, “Break Me In”, a fierce anthem of seduction from a feminine protagonist, challenging a lover to go full throttle. “Break Me In” quickly garnered over 3M streams, was featured in a JD Sports campaign that also starred Wrice. The comeback single landed her impressive live sessions with Genius’ Open Mic, heds carRADIO and Soundcloud’s Amplified powered by Xfinity, delivered alongside a GAP campaign and an official high octane choreo video.. | Blending the nostalgic soul of Aaliyah, Amerie, and Mariah Carey with a modern global perspective, Wrice has quietly built one of R&B’s most critically revered catalogs, amassing over 100 million global streams and collaborations with Kaytranada, Lucky Daye, Freddie Gibbs, Masego, and Westside Gunn. Her 2021 debut album Overgrown, executive produced by Grammy-winning hitmaker D’Mile (Bruno Mars, Silk Sonic, Victoria Monet), earned acclaim from NPR, Billboard, and Rolling Stone, while her voice reached new audiences as the theme song for Disney+’s The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. On stage, Wrice has delivered standout performances at NPR’s Tiny Desk, Roots Picnic, and Day N Vegas, cementing her reputation as a vocalist.
