Former CAPS United and Dynamos midfielder Juan Mutudza opened his Betway Premiership scoring account in South Africa on Wednesday evening after helping his side, Polokwane City, register a 2-1 win over TS Galaxy.
In the 17th minute Mutudza delivered a long-range effort which gave the goalkeeper no chance.
The Zimbabwean international’s goal gave his side a 1-0 halftime lead, before he assisted Mokibelo Ramabu’s 48th-minute goal, which secured Polokwane City’s second goal of the day.
TS Galaxy later scored a consolation goal in the 83rd minute through Igor Silva to make it 2-1.
Mutudza’s performance saw him being voted Player of the Match, his first accolade in the South African top-flight league since making his debut in February.
The former Dynamos player joined Polokwane City in January as a free agent after parting ways with Harare giants CAPS United in December last year.
Wednesday’s result propelled Polokwane City into the top 8, as they are now in number 7 with 32 points.
