Justice Minister, International Human Rights Delegation Discuss Strengthening Human Rights Protections

The Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Ould Soueidatt, received this Wednesday an international human rights delegation composed of several representatives from regional and international organizations.

The delegation included the Secretary-General of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), Mr. Idrissa Traoré; the President of the Democratic Association of Moroccan Women (ADFM), Ms. Khadija Rebbaa; as well as the Program Officer for the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders at the International Federation for Human Rights, Ms. Justine Lavard.

The delegation also included the President of the Mauritanian Association for Human Rights (AMDH), Ms. Fatimata Mbaye, and the Officer for the Protection of Victims and Human Rights Defenders within the same association, Mr. Abderrahmane Niang.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation and consultation with human rights bodies and organizations to promote and protect fundamental rights.

The meeting focused on several issues of common interest, particularly those related to the protection of human rights, the reinforcement of mechanisms for victim support, and the backing of efforts aimed at consolidating the rule of law and justice.
