Saint Lucia’s young Piton Girlz bowed into action on January 27, on the second matchday of the 2026 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifiers, falling 5-0 to Haiti’s Grenadières in a Group C encounter at Stadion Rignaal Jean Francisca in Willemstad, Curaçao.

Saint Lucia started in a 4-1-4-1 formation, with Alyssa Flavius in goal, and captain Hayla Samuel anchoring a backline that included Aria Andrew, LeNeese Robinson, and Ivana Marshall. Tori Fanis held a defensive midfield role, behind Dhunya Jn Baptiste, Kayla Polius, Kyla Lionel, and Kennya Richard, with Amaya Emmanuel up front.

The Haitians earned a throw-in after just four minutes, deep in the Saint Lucian half. A long throw found the feet of Kyrah Lormil to put the Grenadières up 1-0. Lormil doubled the advantage 13 minutes later, with a shot from the right side of the 18-yard box.

The Piton Girlz weathered a significant period of play, but they were reduced to ten players when Ivana Marshall was shown a straight red card for violent conduct in the 54th minute. Krystel Châtelain scored Haiti’s third goal in the 61st minute, Keisha Gue the fourth in the 73rd minute, and Rosalie St Louis sealed the deal four minutes from time.

Featuring a squad heavy on overseas-based players, Haiti remain top of the qualifying group, ahead of Guatemala. The Grenadières have now scored 11 goals in just two games, whilst conceding only once. The road gets no easier for Saint Lucia, as they meet Guatemala on Thursday. The Central Americans defeated Antigua and Barbuda 5-0 on Tuesday.
