Melody Rodgers Calls Recent Charges ‘False’ + Works With Lawmakers on False Charges Law

Former LAMH star Melody Shari opens up after she surrenders to the authorities.

Melody Shari Rodgers is in the headlines because she recently surrendered to authorities after she was charged with harassment. The former “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” star’s ex-husband, Martell Holt, is behind the accusations.

Melody sat down with WHNT News 19 to discuss the situation. Martell alleged that she grabbed his arm while they were at an event at one of their children’s schools, and he sustained a three-day injury as a result. She denied this.

“So I’m here today to do something that a lot of Americans have had to do, unfortunately, which is turn myself in and go through the fingerprinting process, the mugshot process, for a charge that is absolutely false. I have been aware of this false filing since the end of May. And I really had to sit with it,” Melody said.

She continued, “I had to sit with it. I had to allow my children to sit with it. And yesterday, I said you know what? It’s time. So, I’m here. I’m here so the legal process can continue, so that I can be vindicated. I have four babies, and they are having to witness, at such an early age, injustice. They’re having to witness and learn, oh, somebody can really go and say something that’s not true, have no proof of it, and it can become a thing where I get arrested. So that has been the most heartbreaking part.”

Melody is now working with Alabama lawmakers to make sure that knowingly filing a false police report results in a felony.
