IN late 2025, the New Westminster Police Department began an investigation after numerous calls from people in the area of Clute Street. These reports to police expressed concern over drug trafficking and suspicious behavior connected to people coming and going from an RV parked in the area.
The Street Crime Unit assumed conduct over the investigation and after several weeks of work, a search warrant was granted. Police seized prohibited weapons, numerous airsoft pistols, two batons, cash, suspected crack cocaine and methamphetamine from inside the RV. The RV was towed at the owner’s expense, and a man and woman were arrested and released with court dates and court ordered conditions.
“We heard from the community loud and clear about this RV,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver on Wednesday. “Their reports to police made all the difference. They were our eyes and ears.”
