Today multi-platinum artist and lyricist Niko Moon announces his forthcoming album ROOTS, to be released July 17th via EMPIRE. In addition, today he has released a brand-new single “RICH MAN.” The album marks a new defining chapter for Moon as he steps into a more personal, grounded and introspective era – one rooted in his story, his upbringing and what truly matters most.
| In speaking on the new album & single Niko said: “I’ve spent a long time building my life as a singer, songwriter, husband and father, and while that journey has taken me to some beautiful places — including my home now in Nashville — I started feeling pulled back toward the places that raised me: Tyler, Texas, Atlanta, and Georgia This album is an homage to those places, those memories and the stories that shaped me. ROOTS draws not only from my own life, but from the musical history of Texas, Atlanta and the South as a whole. Sonically and personally, this album is a bit of a change for me. Instead of writing about taking somebody to the beach or out to a party, I wanted to take people back to where I come from — back to my roots, and back to the life I’m living today with my family.” On the beautiful song Niko continued, “RICH MAN” is about realizing that the most valuable things in life have nothing to do with money or material things. For me, real wealth is coming home to my wife, raising our kids and building a life together. I’ve gone from sleeping in a little twin bed in a trailer to having a beautiful home and career, but none of it would mean anything without the people I love beside me. This song is really about redefining what being rich means to me, and at the end of the day, family is the most valuable thing I’ll ever have.” |

ROOTS serves as the follow-up to Moon’s 2025 project AMERICAN PALM, trading beachside vibes for something deeper and more reflective. Across the album, Moon speaks lyrically about his upbringing in Georgia, Texas, and now his hometown of Nashville where he resides with his own young family. Sonically the album reflects the diverse genres he grew up with all the while ultimately telling the origin story he’s never fully shared until now. Shaped by a young mother and a truck-driving father, and years spent moving between trailers and extended-stay motels, ROOTS leans into a more personal storytelling, blending introspection with the same uplifting energy that powered his past hits. This week, Moon also announced he will be bringing the album on the road with his BACK TO MY ROOTS fall headline tour.
