While much of the attention from the Nov. 3 election was focused locally on the gubernatorial race, and local congressional and state wide races, New York City also voted on five ballot proposals that Mayor Zohran Mamdini’s office, though the Commission on Government Efficiency put forward.

Each of the proposals were indented to cut government bureaucracy and make it easier to get numerous permits for doing day-to-day business and New Yorkers approved all of them, unofficial results from the city’s Board of Elections shows.

“Tonight, New Yorkers voted for a government that moves as fast as they do,” said Mamdani in a statement. “From opening outdoor dining faster to speeding up street safety projects to accelerating housing production, we are cutting red tape that will directly address the affordability crisis and help New Yorkers stay in the city they love. Now comes the work of turning these votes into results.”

The proposals came from 10 hearings which were followed by hundreds of briefings with New Yorkers to educate them on the ballot questions.
