For years, Tera Carissa Hodges has inspired audiences through leadership, empowerment, and purpose-driven storytelling. Now, the minister, media personality, and humanitarian is expanding her impact on a global scale through her partnership with Global Christian Relief. While many know her for championing women and helping others unlock their potential, Hodges is stepping into a new chapter that combines faith, service, and advocacy for persecuted Christians around the world. From refugee camps in Nigeria to international fundraising initiatives, she is proving that purpose isn’t confined to a stage, a microphone, or a social media platform—it thrives wherever compassion meets action.

SHEEN: What made you get involved with Global Christian Relief?
Tera Carissa Hodges: I was truly honored and humbled when Global Christian Relief reached out to me. They had seen my work throughout West Africa on social media, particularly my work with the Internally Displaced Persons camp in Nigeria, which I have been committed to for six years now. Knowing I am a licensed and ordained Christian minister with accredited international experience, education and training in fundraising, they believed we would make a great partnership. I had no idea I was on their radar. But, I am a firm believer, that when you are working in your purpose, doors you didn’t see coming will open for you.

SHEEN: Your career has been built around empowering women, leadership, and personal development. How do you believe your background and experiences uniquely position you to contribute to the mission of Global Christian Relief?
Tera Carissa Hodges: Global Christian Relief supports persecuted Christians around the world. As a human being, I care. As a Christian, I care. As a mom, I care. We should all care. I look forward to using my experience in media, fundraising and ministry to aid as many people as we can. I will never forget someone asking me if becoming a mom made me a better person. The answer was no. I have always been a decent person. But, it has made me a more concerned person. I care about the condition of this world for everyone, but especially the next generation. That is the core of my ministry and purpose.
SHEEN: As you step into this new role with the organization, what strengths, perspectives, or resources do you hope to bring that can help further its impact and reach?
Tera Carissa Hodges: Resources. I will work to bring more awareness and resources to Global Christian Relief. Yes, as believers, we can and should offer prayer. But, when we finish praying, people who have lost their homes and need resources. People who have endured physical harm need medical attention. Nothing is free. The Bible says it this way: “Money answers all things.”No, it cannot replace a loved one. But, it can ensure you have appropriate mental health professionals to speak to. This is another reason I became credentialed in hypnotherapy. When you are in refugee camps or similar settings, the people you serve rarely have time for 12 weeks of talk therapy. They need something that gets to the root quicker and helps them maintain sanity while they figure out how to survive.

SHEEN: What are your goals for GCR?
Tera Carissa Hodges: My goal as an ambassador for GCR is to raise awareness amongst people who have the resources and desire to help. Our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters need to know they are not alone. We bring prayer, resources, solutions and strategies.
SHEEN: Partnerships often create opportunities for growth on both sides. What do you hope to learn, experience, or gain personally and professionally through your involvement with Global Christian Relief?
Tera Carissa Hodges: I hope to learn how to build out better frameworks that sustain international giving. I recently studied at the Geneva Graduate Institute based in Switzerland. The information I obtained was amazing. There is a way to connect, build, sustain. I am hopeful I will learn more about that with GCR.
