South Sudan Holds Joint Ministerial Meeting on EAC Infrastructure and ICT Projects

Ministry of ICT and Postal Services  has participated in a high-level joint ministerial meeting in Juba to discuss regional development projects under the East African Community (EAC)  framework.

The meeting, held on June 18, 2026, brought together the Minister of East Africa Community Affairs, Pieng Deng Kuol, and the Minister of Roads and Bridges, Peter Lam Both, to review ongoing and planned initiatives aimed at strengthening regional integration and infrastructure development.

Discussions focused on a range of cross-sector projects, including the expansion of fibre optic networks, road construction, transport systems, and cross-border service improvements. Key initiatives highlighted included the Northern Corridor project, alongside opportunities for cooperation in ICT development and higher education.

The meeting was attended by senior government officials, including undersecretaries from relevant ministries, and was hosted at the offices of the Ministry of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services in Juba.

The engagement reflects South Sudan’s commitment to advancing regional connectivity and leveraging East African Community partnerships to accelerate infrastructure growth, digital integration, and socio-economic development across member states.
