BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, CMC -Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew Monday held talks with European Commissioner Magnus Brunner to discuss areas of mutual interest and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration between Saint Kitts and Nevis and the European Union, according to an official statement issued here.
It said that the meeting with Brunner “forms part of the Prime Minister’s ongoing efforts to build strategic international partnerships that support national development, regional cooperation, and the advancement of shared priorities”.
Drew, who is in Brussels participating in a series of high-level engagements aimed at advancing the twin-island Federation’s international partnerships and climate resilience agenda, also met with the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Teresa Ribera, Delphine Pronk, the managing director for the Americas at the European External Action Service, and other senior European Union officials.
“The engagement reflected the continued strength of the relationship between St. Kitts and Nevis and the European Union and provided an opportunity to reinforce longstanding ties built on cooperation, partnership, and mutual understanding.
“The Prime Minister remains committed to fostering strategic international relationships that create opportunities, support sustainable development, and advance the interests of the Federation on the global stage,” the statement said.
Prime Minister Drew is also scheduled to travel to Germany to participate in the Climate Mobility Forum.
