Inside, the colour scheme is old-school pub brown, brown and more brown, like a warehouse cosplaying  a traditional pub with echoes of the much missed Canterbury Arms.

The pub is owned by the aggressively expanding Urban Pubs & Bars chain who recently took over the Prince Regent in Herne Hill.

We took a look around during a quiet afternoon so we can’t really comment on how ‘pubby’ the  atmosphere was, although there was a  pleasingly unpretentious air about the place with plenty of nooks and crannies

But if we were looking for a truly authentic Brixton pub experience we’d probably end up in the Beehive opposite (a Wetherspoons pub with all the good and bad that entails) or head off to the nearby Marquis of Lorne.

Talking of prices, their ‘bottomless brunch‘ on Saturdays works out at £35 per person,  while foodies are invited to tuck into their Sunday Roast menu. Check out their regular menu here.

The venue will also be showing the World Cup on big screens from the 11th June 2026 onwards.

We couldn’t find a drinks menu online although a poster on the Brixton forum remarked:

[What were the prices?]

Oh, not cheap – £7.50-8.

I wouldn’t go back unless someone was paying

There’s plenty going on at The Ferndale with free DJ nights on the weekend, and a pub quiz on Monday.
