Below are poems by the Together! 2012 Pop-Up Poetry Club on the theme of “Spring Flowers”.

Bluebells growing amongst grass in woodlan.

Eve Smith: Flowers at Spring

As you plant a seed and watch it grow
You can add some water and nobody knows where the flower will go
Hopefully very high and for a long time
When you planted the flowers, when the days go by
You will realise that’s the flower I planted and you will hopefully Be very proud of what you have grown.

Dawn Barber: Spring Flowers

Daffodils
Tulips
Bluebells
And many more
That bring us peace and calm
And do us no harm
They make our lives better
They make us see the beauty of nature
Yes, they do bring out the best in us
Their colours give us hope
Spring flowers are beautiful.

Dwain Bryan: Spring Blossom

It’s funny how nature works
Wintertime – the trees were naked and bare
And if the tree dies I doubt anybody will care
The Spring comes shining in bright
With the light
And almost suddenly I see a sign of life on some of the trees
But not much growth just small little leaves
Like a turtle coming out of its shell
Slowly but surely
I give away a little sneeze
Maybe the pollen in the air
I do suffer with hay fever you know
And if I don’t take my medication
I will sneeze more than once
And water will run down my face
And I feel out of place
I continue my journey on a normal road
And life seems to show more
Especially for the grass and trees
And nature seems a part of me.

Kathleen Jackson: Spring Flowers

Spring spring
Comes up in the air
We want to have a picnic with you

We want spring to come
Very fast
We want to sunbathe

And the children want to pick the flowers
For their mum

Spring spring spring
We want the sun to come
And to sunbathe
And go on holiday

The children want to come
And pick the flowers off
For their mum

For the picnic
And bring the flowers in the house
And make their mums feel better for the summer

And all the ducks and the birds
Come to your food
When you are eating

Saying quack quack quack
Where’s my food
You are eating your picnic
In the sun

But where’s my food?
When you go to the seaside
The birds will eat your food

While you paddle in the water
And the dog will come
And eat the food.

Huma Butt: Cat Flowers

Cat went to get flowers.
Flowers went into the garden.
The cat and the flowers.
Flowers in the garden.
Garden into the flowers.
Flowers and the cat.
Cat with flowers today.
What has happened to the cat?
Cat and flowers every day.
All the way for the cat.
Cat and flowers will play.
Play into the garden.
Play, play you can, it’s the cat.
Flowers for the cat is the way.
Way to the garden.
Garden full of flowers.
Flowers to the garden.
Garden takes the cat.
Cat and just to go there.
there to be and
flowers for the cat.
Cat loves the garden.
The garden is blooming and
Cat there.
Cat will remember the flowers.
Flowers for cat then lets
Flowers go into the garden.
Garden then flowers.
It’s all you see in the garden.
I will remember a cat
In the garden and the flowers.

Huma Butt: Poem 1 Spring Flowers

Special garden comes.
Come is my garden.
Garden take you, then special for.
For the garden and nothing.
Nothing as then you see.
See and all will be happening.
Happening in the garden.
Garden nothing as nothing to see.
Seeing and it just takes
Time. Nothing left in the
Garden. All will get there. There end pops
Up the spring flowers.
Rows and rows of nothing.
Nothing I see. Some
Times all the spring flowers.
Flowers found into the garden.
Spring flowers nothing and
Nothing to the end, somehow
The garden will bring and
Somehow, they will come.
It’s the sun in action.
The garden there. Plenty
Of sunshine. The garden
Will know. Flowers know.
Know for nothing there.
Let the garden know.
Let yourself know.
Let spring flowers come
And go. Into the garden.
Then spring flowers know.
Know your garden. Then,
Garden is with spring flowers.

Huma Butt: Poem 2 Spring Flowers

Not knowing spring come.
Come and the spring flowers.
Flowers that come with spring. Spring left never knew.
Knew and days went.
Went for spring, summer
Approaches. Whatever comes. Then days into the year. Years of spring. Spring brings the flowers.
Spring flowers everywhere.
It can only be spring.
Comes and goes. Only for spring. This year spring was
Full of flowers.
What you forget. Forget spring, forget flowers.
Flowers forget and spring.
Flowers came and went.
Forget what come. It’s the flowers ready. Ready to forget, forget spring as
The time just took place.
Place and time for
Spring flowers. Flowers,
Flowers you missed. Missed for the spring time.
Time of spring comes in. Then time which takes
All, all for spring flowers.
Time for flowers. Take, take you. Not for the flower. I will know spring.

Huma Butt: Poem 3 Spring Flowers

Spring and flowers.
Can take you to spring.
Spring, spring will
Bring flowers. Flowers can be there. Found then spring, Spring takes you to
flowers. Flowers into
Flowers. which will be
ready for spring. Spring comes and see them
Bloom. Bloom into
Flowers. For the spring
Happens naturally.
Natural flowers. Naturally take place. Place into and out, Out to get
Flowers in spring.
Spring then flowers will
Be ready as can be.
Out to get flowers then too
Many there. Flowers, flowers just to get. Get flowers in all, Which will
Come for spring.
Spring flowers, spring
Flowers come, comes
Ready for spring.
Spring and spring flowers
Let them bloom for the flowers.
flowers into spring.
Spring to flourish, flourishing
Flowers, all to spring flowers.
