DODOMA: A World Bank-funded study has identified key interventions needed to strengthen Tanzania’s National Grid and ensure the country’s electricity system can meet growing current and future demand.
The findings were discussed during a meeting between Tanzania’s Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy responsible for Electricity and Renewable Energy, Felchesmi Mramba, and representatives of the World Bank, who reviewed recommendations aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the power network.
During the discussion, Mr Mramba commended the World Bank for its continued support to Tanzania’s energy sector through financing and technical studies, saying the government would prioritize implementation of the report’s recommendations to guide future investments, modernize grid operations and enhance power system resilience.
